Project Description

Otto Construction was awarded the City of Vacaville Police Department Headquarters project after its successful low bid in May 2004. This state-of-the-art public safety facility contains high performance environmental energy systems which keep projected energy consumption 34% under Title 24 energy code regulations. Green building features include south facing windows equipped with shades that double as light shelves. These windows shield the interior from hot summer days and are used to project natural light into interior office space.

Light fixtures also dim automatically as natural light levels increase. This modern public service building also complies with the highest standards of seismic tolerance for the Zone 4 earthquake region. It utilizes viscous damper technology in its steel frame to safely absorb lateral forces.
